Weyspring Park’s ethos is embedded in the importance of delivering individualised person-centred care in an environment that is safe, structured and respectful of the individuals within it.
Treatment begins with a comprehensive and holistic assessment of each resident’s mental health, physical health and overall needs. This involves a thorough assessment of capacity, behavioural risks, mental health related risks and physical health needs. Residents are supported to make informed decisions about their care when possible.
Following initial assessment, a formulation of the resident’s needs is made, which is then used to inform, direct and plan an individualised treatment and care plan in keeping with evidence-based practice. The principles of a Structured Assessment Process are applied throughout the therapeutic process, thus enabling the involvement of residents and individuals and agencies relevant to the resident’s care. The participation of family members is encouraged at all stages of the process.
Weyspring Park was founded and is run by three senior clinicians, each with decades of experience in mental health care for the elderly in the Surrey area, working with a dedicated, close-knit team of qualified and committed staff.
The needs of the individual resident are paramount. Weyspring Park endeavours to provide a holistic and person-centred approach to caring for its residents.
We very much want to get to know our residents: who they are, their past, their present, likes and dislikes, family and friends, as well as what has been and is now important in their lives. This will inform the emotional, psychological and physical support that we provide.
Leisure activity is important, and staff are sensitive to individual tastes and capabilities, and strive continuously to meet these. Resources in the neighbourhood are engaged to support these needs.
Built in 1859 our Arts and Crafts manor house has recently been completely renovated and refurbished to provide the best quality care in a bright and spacious, comfortable and safe environment. Our home is set in 9 acres of mature enclosed garden, which is enjoyed by both residents and their friends and families.
